Window Repair on South Side, November, 2006

Not too scared of heights…
The original windowsill had almost completely rotted away, and so the storm window for the South side stained glass window had slipped down almost 6 inches, exposing the inside of the building to the weather. Not good…

“Oh, about so long…”

Slowly and carefully we lifted the thick old glass pane until it was seated up under the concave header on top, then we replaced the temporary blocks of wood that supported it with the new sill, installed in 2 pieces made of treated lumber.

Silicone caulk is our friend
And after a liberal dose of caulking all the way around, the storm window was ready for winter.

Voila! Almost like new!
